Southampton

Southampton City Centre is perfect for enjoying every type of leisure activity – from shopping and dining to cinemas, theatres and live music and it’s all within a short drive from ADANAC Trade Park.

According to a recent census the population of Southampton is estimated to be approximately 250,000, with nearly 20% of Southampton’s resident population aged between 16 and 24 compared to just 10% in England. This is largely due to Southampton being a university city and home to approximately 38,000 students, many of whom stay in the area thanks to a buoyant economy and excellent career opportunities.

Investment in Southampton is higher than ever. Construction on the £132m Bargate Quarter scheme will provide over 500 new homes, retail and hospitality venues and a new linear park. It’s scheduled to be completed by late 2024.

A £200m redevelopment scheme opposite Southampton Central Railway Station is planned, as is a 4.8-acre Maritime Gateway scheme, which will feature a new public area with 600 new homes and new commercial space. PwC’s Good Growth for Cities 2020 index places Southampton in the top three cities in England in terms of growth.

This economic strength has enabled the city to establish a reputation as ‘a place to do business’ and has attracted nationally and internationally significant businesses.
